My Favs from Alexander McQueen’s SS21 Collection.

As a fashion lover and a fan of runway shows, I love watchinng and imagining these top-notch fabrics tightly or loosely on the models following the silhouette of my body, thinking maybe it’ll fit me like it fits them. Hell, maybe it’ll fit me better (lol). When I started to talk about becoming a fashion journalist those who felt the need to test my knowledge of the fashion industry (as if I didn’t know what I was talking about) would say “A fashion journalist, name a fashion designer.” With a quickness, I would say “Alexander McQueen.” My knowledge at the time was very minimal and even know it’s growing still, but this pre Spring/Summer 2021 clothing line is nothing short of what I believe to be an unconscious truth and a valid explanation to why I so proudly blurted out his name when someone challenged me.

Here are just a few of my favorites from this clothing line.

The “Spliced Trench Coat”

I love love love this cotton beige trench coat that is so versatile in the ways that you can wear it and what you can pair it with. The model has it on as a dress paired with chunky black boots. It flares as the coat reaches the bottom. What stood out to me was the combination of plaid and beige. Also, the volume at the bottom of the coat, which gives it a little bit of a “poof” vs. regular trench coats. It’s very much so a classic piece.

The “Distressed Prince of Wales Jacket”

I am forever loving a badass blazer. It’s the whole entire jacket for me. I love everything from the plaid print to how it snatches in the waste. Oh and the pockets, yes, please. The straight shoulders are beautiful. You can wear this blazer with several different items, the neutral colors in the plaid allow that versatility. This jacket is sexy with the deep cut in the front. This is definitely one of my favorites of the favorites.

The “Patchwork Lace Top”

This pale blue top is so feminine and soft, right down to the color. The keyhole in the back of the shirt is one of my favorite features on this top. The other being, the patchwork that follows a pattern that reminds me of a bustier. The flare at the bottom of the shirt adds that extra girly vibe that finishes it off so well.

The “Grain du Poudre Slash Lapel Jacket” & “Grain de Poudre Long Cigarette Trouser”

Pants suits do something magical for me, especially a very nice tailored one. The soft white color makes the suit angelic like. If I imagine an angel coming down, she/he would be wearing this Alexander McQueen suit. The double breasted jacket with the slash lapel on one side gives it something extra. The matching soft white cigarette trousers are just the topping on the cake. A classic. Just. freaking. beautiful.

The “Scarf Lapel Tuxedo Jacket” & “Leaf Crepe Long Cigarette Trouser”

This is my white tuxedo dream. The scarf lapel is so beautiful and elegant. The low cut adds sexy to such a classic well done suit. And the back of the tuxedo jacket with the extended key hole is so not expected, pretty much floored me, to the point that if I actually had $1,940 in my account and I had to pay rent I would get this jacket instead. McQueen is making elegant more elegant, and sexy more elegant. I want to be married in this suit, on my wedding day. This is it. Definitely a favorite out of the favorites, top 3 for sure.

The “Double - Breasted Box Pleat Jacket” & “Light Wool Silk Long Cigarette Trouser”

This black and white tuxedo is absolutely stunning. I really like the box shaped pleats at the bottom of the jacket. The way that the middle of the jacket creates the snatched waist is just doing so much for it. The soft white lapels makes it so much more. A classic.

The “Dip Dye Jacket” & “Dip Dye Long Cigarette Trouser”

Last, but absolutely, most definitely not least. This is my absolute favorite out of the entire collection. This pink and red suit does wonders for me. It is so just very well made and designed. The way the pink transitions so well into the red. The wool-silk fabric makes these colors pop. The jacket, with the masculine shoulder is such a vibe. I am in so in love with the suit.

I am such a lover of timeless pieces because they never go out of style. And McQueen has reinvented these classic pieces through his vision and I am loving it. I really appreciate his creative contribution. This line is absolutely beautiful, elegant, and timeless.
